Ellen Tormey, a skilled reinswoman, is setting her sights on a significant victory at the upcoming Community Bank Charlton Pacing Cup. Teaming up with Ultimate Vinnie, trained by Sam Barker, Tormey is eager to check off a race from her personal “bucket list.” Despite her past success finishing third in her hometown cup aboard Ideal Escape, Tormey is determined to clinch the win this time around.
Ultimate Vinnie, known for his strong performances in races like the SA Cup and Ballarat Cup, has proven his capabilities, giving Tormey confidence in their partnership. With the 2570-meter journey ahead and an outside back row draw for Ultimate Vinnie, Tormey plans to assess the race dynamics and adapt her strategy accordingly, emphasizing the horse’s versatility in different race scenarios.
Acknowledging the competitive field, Tormey highlights contenders like Dangerous, Catalpa Rescue, Dee Roe, and Jilliby Nitro as major threats in the upcoming race. The betting odds favor the Shane Sanderson-trained duo of Dangerous and Catalpa Rescue, along with other strong contenders like Dee Roe, Jilliby Nitro, and Ultimate Vinnie.
In addition to her focus on the Pacing Cup, Tormey also eyes success in the North West Ag Services Charlton Trotters Cup with Parisian Artiste, trained by Alex Ashwood. Despite facing challenges in recent races, Tormey remains optimistic about Parisian Artiste’s prospects, especially after the unfortunate incident at Geelong, where they were impeded on the home turn.
Looking back at her past victories, Tormey aims to secure her second Charlton Trotters Cup triumph, reminiscing about her win on The Boss Man in 2018. With a strong determination and a lineup of competitive horses, Ellen Tormey is poised to make her mark at the upcoming harness racing events, showcasing her skills and expertise in the field.
