Harness Racing Victoria Introduces Concessions for Young Horses

Harness Racing Victoria is set to introduce a trial for two and three-year-old concessions starting on July 1. This move comes in response to feedback received during HRV’s March roadshows and discussions with key industry players like the Victorian Trainers and Drivers Association and the Harness Racing Advisory Council.

The trial period, scheduled to run from July through at least September 1, will grant 10-point concessions to two-year-old horses and eight-point concessions to three-year-old horses when they compete in races outside their age groups. Notably, these concessions will be granted regardless of the horses’ current ratings and will automatically adjust them to the base national rating level of 30.
