A new executive has been elected to the board of Vincy Day USA Inc for the 2016 to 2018 term. The newly elected members include Colin Liverpool as chair, Ulric “Soca” Jones Jr as vice-chair, Celia Ross as secretary, Rosalind Goodluck as treasurer, Jennifer Cordice as assistant treasurer/secretary, Chandelle “Chandy” De Riggs as public relations officer, Shaun “Justin Monk Miller” Vincent as assistant public relations officer, and trustees Laverne Mc Dowald and O’Brien Simmons.
The organization disclosed that the cost to produce Vincy Day this year amounted to $31,000, which was covered by sponsorship, fund-raisers, parking permits, and T-shirt sales. Sponsorship and fund-raising play a crucial role in ensuring a memorable experience for all attendees. The committee eagerly anticipates collaborating with sponsors, performers, and entertainers to enhance the Vincy Day USA event in 2017.
Vincy Day USA 2017 is scheduled for August 19, 2017, at Heckscher State Park Campgrounds, East Islip, Long Island, New York. Vincy Day USA Inc operates as an Internal Revenue Service 501(c)(3) and a New York State Charities Bureau registered non-profit organization. The primary mission is to educate the New York City public about the culture, cuisine, and history of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).
The conception of Vincy Day USA stemmed from the necessity to provide valuable information to SVG migrants in the United States, facilitating their development, education, integration into American life, and preserving their cultural heritage. The organization is committed to keeping the culture of SVG vibrant and relevant in the diaspora.
The release also announced two upcoming fund-raising events: the “Kiss of Vegas Casino Night” on April 29, 2017, at Friends of Crown Heights in Brooklyn, New York, and the “Aromas of Vincy” food sale on July 29, 2017, at the same venue. Vincy Day USA Inc expressed gratitude to all participants and contributors who made the 2016 Vincy Day USA family day a success.
